CCTV systems are only as good as their ongoing maintenance. Cameras exposed to the elements accumulate dust, spider webs, and moisture that degrade image quality over months. Hard drives in NVRs have a finite lifespan — typically 3 to 5 years under continuous write cycles — and will fail without warning if not proactively replaced.
